Cafe Aaliya

I was pleasantly surprised to find such a reasonably priced set menu for this cafe's french toast, which came along with your choice of a soup or salad, and a choice of coffee or tea. Unfortunately though, there weren't any options as to what type of soup/salad/coffee/tea you could select from, it was just whatever they were offering for that day (which is generally the same every time)--minestrone soup, house salad, coffee americano?, or a black tea?

Regardless of this lack of choice, I thoroughly enjoyed my french toast which had a slightly pudding-like texture. They were nothing compared to Graffiato's heavenly, pudding-like french toast which just melted into your mouth with full-flavored goodness, but they were still quite enjoyable. But if I were to measure it to those, Aaliya's would be child's play, so let's just not juxtapose the two since Aaliya's french toast are actually very good.

The soup was a tad bit too salty for my liking, and the Russian tea that I ordered on the side was a little too sweet for my party's liking, but we both relished our own orders. If you're in the Shinjuku area and need to find a solitude spot to sit down and rest for a bit, then Cafe Aaliya is a worthy kissaten to visit.
