乙コーヒー (Otsu Coffee)
Way back in May I finally decided to sit down and write my first cafe review on Tabelog of my new favorite study spot, however, only until just now did I realize that it was never officially published thanks to bots stopping the finalizing process (ahem, and my ignorance that apparently you have to confirm submission via email). So finally, after all these months, my words shall finally be live, but on a different platform; here on my own personal cafe guide site. I hope you enjoy the short review I had initially planned to post.
"I've been to this coffee shop multiple times now, and I can certainly say that it's one of my favorites. The atmosphere here is so tranquil, the music is very soothing, the dimming of the lights adds to the overall ambiance, etc. (but maybe the evening/night time lighting is a little too dark for studying, but during the daytime it's perfect). I love watching the female owner? prepare the coffees at the stove in open sight. The flavor of the brews she makes is rich and delicious, and the desserts, like the maple toast or their flan-like cheesecake, are also quite scrumptious. I would definitely recommend this cafe and their cafe mocha!"
I'm still not too accustomed to drinking coffee, especially not way back in May, so the only drinks I ordered here were their cafe mocha, cafe au lait, and ginger chai tea, all of which were very delectable. As for their desserts, I tried their cheesecake, chocolate cake, and maple toast. Otsu Coffee's cake/toast and drink set discounts your drink by fifty yen.
I apologize for the poor image quality of these pictures. These photographs were taken off of my late Samsung Galaxy S5 Active phone (may your AI soul rest in peace), so the pixels aren't as sharp as my current model's (Samsung Galaxy S8 Edge). If I ever find the time to go back to my favorite cafe in Ochanomizu, then I'll try to capture some better photos (but tbh, the quality isn't actually too bad).
Not too often lately have I actually run across a bookshelf full of comic books inside of a cafe, so it's always a nice surprise to find them. If you didn't know, but I'm actually a huge fan of anime and manga, so seeing them always makes me happy (but also a little angry occasionally since I don't prefer the comic called One Piece, which I spotted on the top shelf here).
